VA Challenges Audit Findings on FISMA Compliance
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has disputed the findings of a recent audit by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) regarding its compliance with the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA). The audit identified ongoing cybersecurity deficiencies that could leave critical systems vulnerable. However, the VA argues that the audit does not accurately reflect the current state of its cybersecurity program, which it claims is making significant progress. The audit, conducted by CliftonLarsonAllen, made 19 recommendations for improvement, which the VA has not fully accepted.
