Driver in Oakland Hits Multiple Pedestrians and Flees, Leaving Two Critically Injured
In Oakland's Uptown neighborhood, a hit-and-run incident occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in injuries to seven pedestrians. The driver of a red Hyundai sedan, along with two passengers, allegedly drove onto the sidewalk on the 500 block of 18th Street, striking the victims around 1:37 am. The group of victims, who had been attending Oakland's First Friday event, included a 15-year-old girl, three women aged 18 and 19, and three men aged 21 to 23, mostly from Oakland. Two of the victims are in critical condition, while three others sustained major injuries. The driver and passengers fled the scene on foot, and police are currently seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation.
