Gillette Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Celebrates 90 Years of Family Ownership and Care
Gillette Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Warren, Ohio, recently celebrated its 90th anniversary, marking nine decades of continuous care under family ownership. The facility's origins trace back to 1936 when Emma and Virgil Gillette, then dairy farmers, began offering care to elderly neighbors who could no longer manage on their own. This act of kindness laid the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family business. The current co-owners, brothers Todd and Doug Stein, are the fourth generation to operate the facility, which has grown significantly from its humble beginnings on a dairy farm. The celebration highlighted the facility's enduring commitment to its core values of dignity, respect, and personalized care for its residents. The event included commendations from Trumbull County commissioners, the city of Warren, and both the Ohio House and Senate, acknowledging its long-standing service to the community.
