AI-Powered Cyberattacks Pose Growing Threat to Nonprofits, Experts Warn
Nonprofit organizations are increasingly at risk from AI-powered cyberattacks, according to cybersecurity experts. The latest AI model, Claude Mythos, developed by Anthropic, has demonstrated the ability to identify vulnerabilities in major operating systems and browsers, raising concerns about its potential misuse. Cybercriminals are known for quickly adopting new technologies to enhance their operations, and AI's rapid advancement poses a significant threat to the security of nonprofit organizations. Jewish nonprofits, in particular, are urged to remain vigilant due to rising antisemitism and geopolitical tensions. The Secure Community Network reported 190 cyberattacks on Jewish organizations across 16 states between January and mid-April 2026. These attacks include website defacement, phishing, and data exposure, highlighting the need for robust cybersecurity measures.
