Hamas Appoints Mohammed Odeh as Successor to Slain Gaza Commander
Three days following the death of Izz al-Din Haddad, a senior Hamas commander in Gaza, Mohammed Odeh has been appointed as his successor. This development was reported by the Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat. Haddad was one of the last remaining senior military officials of Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 7. Odeh, who previously served as the head of Hamas intelligence staff, is among the few senior figures still alive. His identity was publicly disclosed by the IDF in September.
