FTC Settles OkCupid Data Scandal Without Financial Penalties

The case dates back to 2014 when OkCupid shared nearly three million user photos with Clarifai without user consent, breaching its privacy policy. The FTC's settlement prohibits OkCupid and its parent company, Match Group, from misrepresenting data practices for 20 years. Clarifai confirmed the deletion of the data and models trained on it, but was not accused of wrongdoing.
