Johnstown Historical Society Seeks Community Contributions for 150th Anniversary Tribute
The Johnstown Historical Society is reaching out to the community for photos and stories from the past 50 years to create a special project commemorating the town's 150th anniversary. This initiative aims to update the original 'A Tribute To Johnstown' book, first published 50 years ago for the town's centennial. The original book, which included historical documents, photos, and community stories, was a limited edition, with only three copies currently held at the Parish House Museum. Billie DeLancey, the museum curator, discovered the book upon moving to Johnstown and has since been inspired to update it. The new edition will include contributions from residents, capturing the essence of life in Johnstown over the past half-century. The project is part of a broader series of community events celebrating both Johnstown's sesquicentennial and the United States' 250th anniversary.
