Union Pacific's Big Boy Locomotive Embarks on Historic Northeast Tour for America's 250th Anniversary
Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014, a historic steam locomotive, has commenced a coast-to-coast tour to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. The tour began on April 10, 2026, from Sacramento, California, and will cover 14 states, including Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio. The tour highlights the historical significance of railroads in the U.S., particularly in the economic development of the Northeast and Ohio Valley regions. The locomotive will be accompanied by historical passenger cars and commemorative locomotives, including the Abraham Lincoln locomotive and the America250 locomotive. The tour will feature public display events in major cities such as Omaha, Buffalo, and Philadelphia, allowing rail enthusiasts to witness the locomotive in action.
