CPJ to Honor Journalists with 2026 International Press Freedom Awards
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has announced that it will honor journalists from six countries, including Colombia, Eritrea, El Salvador, Hungary, Lebanon, and Myanmar, at the 36th annual International Press Freedom Awards in New York. The event, scheduled for November 19, 2026, will recognize journalists who have shown exceptional courage and determination in reporting the news despite facing significant risks. Among the honorees is Carlos Dada from El Salvador, who will receive the Gwen Ifill Press Freedom Award for his sustained commitment to press freedom.
