Texas Storms Disrupt Flights as Northeast Heatwave Ends
Severe weather conditions are impacting Texas and the northeastern United States. In Texas, storms have caused significant disruptions, including nearly 150 flight cancellations or delays at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday and 700 delays on Tuesday, according to Flightaware. Flash flood warnings and school closures have been issued, with the National Weather Service predicting 1 to 5 inches of rain in some areas through Friday. Meanwhile, the northeastern U.S. is experiencing the final day of a heatwave, with temperatures in New York City reaching 92°F (33°C) on Tuesday. A sharp cooldown is expected as storms move through, dropping temperatures to the mid-60s°F (18°C). Meteorologists describe this spring as a period of extreme temperature fluctuations, which have affected agriculture and water resources in the region.
