Former Trump Associate Guo Sentenced to 30 Years for $1.3 Billion Fraud Scheme
Guo, a former business associate of Steve Bannon, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted on nine of 12 counts, including racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering. He was charged in 2023 with defrauding investors of over $1.3 billion through various media and crypto scams. Guo, also known as Ho Wan Kwok and Miles Kwok, is currently held at a low-security prison in Danbury, Connecticut, and maintains his innocence, having appealed his conviction and sentence in July. His Fifth Avenue co-op in the Sherry-Netherland, which he purchased for $67.5 million in 2015, is now in contract for $12 million, representing a potential $55.5 million loss. This unit is being sold by a bankruptcy trustee to help pay off approximately $374 million in debts Guo listed when he filed for bankruptcy in 2022.
