Dry Weather and High Winds Expected from Nebraska to Texas
The National Weather Service has forecast extremely dry conditions across parts of Nebraska, Colorado, western Kansas, and the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles. Red flag warnings are in effect for western Nebraska, where wind gusts are expected to reach up to 35 mph today and 50 mph tomorrow. Southeastern Colorado will experience sustained winds of 25-35 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph. Relative humidity levels are predicted to drop as low as 6% in these areas. In the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles, wind gusts could reach 35 mph, with humidity levels falling to around 7%. These conditions increase the risk of wildfires in the affected regions.
