U.S. Agencies Support Venezuela's Economic Recovery and Earthquake Relief Efforts
The Federal Reserve, FDIC, NCUA, and OCC have issued a joint statement supporting U.S. Government efforts to aid Venezuela's economic recovery and provide humanitarian relief following recent earthquakes. The statement aligns with the Department of Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network's policy, emphasizing that financial institutions will not face enforcement actions for providing authorized financial services in Venezuela. This policy aims to facilitate the rapid provision of aid and promote financial stability in the region. The commitment applies to services provided from July 31, 2026, to January 29, 2027, provided institutions comply with Bank Secrecy Act requirements and have not faced recent enforcement actions.
