Akobo Minerals Temporarily Reduces Segele Mine Operations Due to Diesel Supply Issues
Akobo Minerals, a gold producer, has announced a temporary reduction in operations at its Segele mine in Ethiopia due to diesel supply constraints. The disruptions in global fuel logistics, particularly reduced tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, have affected diesel availability in Ethiopia, which relies on imports. Despite the challenges, Akobo Minerals expects diesel deliveries to resume by early next month, allowing for a swift restart of operations. The company maintains sufficient liquidity to manage the temporary disruption and continues to engage with key stakeholders.
