Prime Minister Modi Urges Domestic Measures to Combat Rising Prices Amid Global Oil Crisis
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on Indian citizens to adopt measures aimed at conserving resources and stabilizing the economy in response to rising global oil prices. The increase in oil prices is attributed to the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint, due to conflict between US-Israel forces and Iran. Modi's recommendations include reducing petrol and diesel consumption, avoiding unnecessary foreign travel, and refraining from non-essential gold purchases. He also encouraged the use of public transport, electric vehicles, and domestic tourism. Additionally, Modi urged farmers to cut down on chemical fertilizers and switch to solar-powered irrigation. These measures are part of a broader strategy to mitigate the economic impact of international conflicts and preserve India's foreign exchange reserves.
