Vanderbilt University Conducts Trial on Pharmacogenomics in Pregnant and Pediatric Populations
Vanderbilt University Medical Center is conducting a randomized trial to evaluate attitudes towards pharmacogenomics (PGx) among pregnant and pediatric populations. The study, part of the Maternal and Pediatric Precision in Therapeutics (MPRINT) initiative, aims to assess the efficacy of interventions on knowledge and attitudes regarding PGx testing. Participants undergo PGx testing and receive personalized interpretations of results, with some receiving additional educational materials. The trial seeks to understand how these interventions affect perceptions of PGx testing, which could inform future precision medicine approaches in maternal and pediatric care.
