Lidl Expands Recall of Eridanous Shortbread Cookies Due to Allergen Labeling Error
Lidl has expanded its recall of Eridanous Shortbread Cookies due to a labeling error that failed to disclose allergens such as wheat, soy, milk, egg, and tree nuts (coconut) on the packaging. The recall affects cookies distributed between July 16 and July 29 across nine U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The affected states include Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. The recall was initially announced on July 24 after it was discovered that the cookies had foreign-language packaging that omitted important allergen information and did not list nutrition facts and ingredients in English. The FDA has reported no illnesses related to the recall so far.
