London Police Crack Down on TikTok Counterfeit Fashion Operation
London police have arrested six individuals involved in a TikTok-based operation selling counterfeit fashion goods. The operation, which led to the seizure of nearly 1.5 million pounds worth of counterfeit items, was conducted by the City of London Police's Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit. The suspects were charged under the Trademarks Act 1994 for distributing goods with false trademarks. The operation targeted TikTok shop accounts that used influencers to promote counterfeit goods to a large audience. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case, which highlights a growing trend of using social media platforms for selling counterfeit products.
