United Airlines Clarifies Policy on Airport Name Change Amid Trump Airport Renaming
United Airlines has addressed reports suggesting that passengers could change their destination airport for free if they object to flying into the newly renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport in Florida. The airline clarified that while customers can make changes to their tickets without a fee for various reasons, an airport's name or three-letter code is not an official reason for a fee-free change. This clarification comes after an internal memo, reportedly instructing reservation agents to offer alternatives to customers uncomfortable with the airport's new name, was published by an airline industry blog. United emphasized that the memo was poorly worded and not accurate.
