Atlanta's 15th Street Extension Nears Completion, Enhancing Urban Mobility
The 15th Street extension project in Midtown Atlanta is nearing completion, with public access expected by the end of August. This strategic urban development, in planning since 2016, aims to improve mobility for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in one of the city's densest areas. The project, which began construction in early 2024, involves a two-block extension that connects the Arts Center MARTA station to Williams Street. It features new lanes for vehicles, dedicated bicycle lanes, and wide sidewalks, enhancing connectivity and accessibility in the area. The project was funded through a combination of federal, state, and local resources, totaling over $6 million.
