Israeli Citizen Convicted for Unlawful Entry into Iraq, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia
An Israeli man, Lior Matan Weinstein, who also holds Romanian citizenship, has been convicted for entering Iraq, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia without the necessary permits. According to an indictment cleared for publication by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, Weinstein traveled to these countries using a foreign passport, which is against Israeli law without special permission. The indictment, filed by the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office, details that Weinstein entered the Kurdistan region of Iraq in August 2023 and returned in December of the same year. He also visited Yemen and Saudi Arabia between January and February 2024. The court lifted a gag order on the case, emphasizing the public interest in understanding the legal implications of such actions.
