Daughter of Modern Continental Founder Sells North Reading Family Estate
Laura Marino, daughter of the late Lelio 'Les' Marino, founder of the Cambridge construction giant Modern Continental, is selling her longtime family home in North Reading, Massachusetts. The nearly 11,300-square-foot estate, located at 4 Wren Circle, is on the market for $3.85 million. Les Marino, known for his company's work on the Big Dig, developed Ridgeway Estates in North Reading in the late 1970s, reserving three lots for his children. Laura Marino's house, designed by Modern Continental's architect, features five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms across 10.6 acres. The home also includes a 4,000-square-foot addition with its own entrance, kitchen, and bedroom suite, where her mother, Anna Maria Marino, has resided for over two decades. Laura Marino decorated the house in 1998, incorporating Italian design elements and a kitchen built for large family gatherings. The property boasts a heated pool, cabana, stone patio, and fire pit, designed to accommodate numerous guests.
