Michael Rosen and Cai Gao Honored with Hans Christian Andersen Awards at Bologna Book Fair
The International Board on Books for Young People has announced Michael Rosen from the United Kingdom and Cai Gao from China as the winners of the 2026 Hans Christian Andersen Awards. These awards, presented at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, recognize lifelong contributions to children's literature. Rosen, a celebrated author and former U.K. Children’s Laureate, is known for his extensive work in promoting children's literature globally. Cai Gao, a pioneer in Chinese children's picture books, has significantly influenced the field both domestically and internationally.
