Ohio Department of Agriculture to Host Pesticide Disposal Events for Farmers
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) has announced a series of pesticide disposal events aimed at helping farmers safely dispose of unwanted pesticides. These events will take place later this summer in Athens, Crawford, and Miami counties. The collection events are scheduled for August 3 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, August 24 at the Miami County Fairgrounds, and August 27 at the Albany Independent Fairgrounds in Athens County. The events are free of charge and will only accept farm chemicals, excluding items like paint, antifreeze, solvents, and household pesticides. Last year, the ODA collected nearly 74,000 pounds of pesticide products, highlighting the importance of these events in preventing environmental harm.
