BYD's plant in Camacari, Brazil, has produced its 100,000th new energy vehicle (NEV), marking a significant milestone in the company's efforts to localize production in South America. The plant, which began operations in July 2025, has a planned annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles. The milestone vehicle, a BYD Seagull, highlights the company's commitment to expanding its presence in Brazil. The plant's workforce has grown to over 5,500 employees, and BYD aims to become Brazil's top auto brand by 2030. The company is also working to increase the localization rate of its vehicles to 50% by 2027.
