According to the NWS, Doppler radar detected thunderstorms producing heavy rain in the area, with rainfall amounts ranging from 0.75 to 2.25 inches. Additional rainfall of 0.5 to 1.25 inches is expected, which could lead to flash flooding. The warning highlights the risk of flash flooding in small creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and other low-lying areas. The affected locations are primarily rural areas within Central Rio Arriba County.
