Dust Cloud Causes High Air Pollution in Israel Over Weekend
Israel's Health Ministry has issued a warning for high air pollution levels over the weekend, urging vulnerable groups to avoid prolonged outdoor exposure. The dust cloud, originating from Libya and Egypt, is affecting visibility across the eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus, Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria. The haze intensified overnight into Friday and is expected to peak on Saturday, with visibility likely to decrease further. The Meteorological Service predicts that the haze will begin to subside on Sunday and Monday, with visibility gradually improving. Rain is forecast to return on Tuesday, with potential flooding in the Dead Sea basin and streams across the Negev and Arava regions.
