Royal Caribbean's Spectrum of the Seas Delayed by Typhoon, Offers Compensation to Passengers
Royal Caribbean's Spectrum of the Seas cruise ship has been delayed due to Typhoon Dolphin, which has caused the closure of the Port of Shanghai. Originally scheduled to return on August 8, 2026, the ship's arrival has been postponed, and the next sailing will now begin on August 11, 2026. The revised itinerary will include stops at Jeju, South Korea, and Nagasaki, Japan, instead of the planned visits to Osaka, Tokyo, and Nagoya. Passengers affected by the delay have been offered various compensation options, including onboard credits and future cruise credits. Royal Caribbean will also reimburse up to $200 per guest for non-refundable transportation change fees. The cruise line has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the storm and the port closure.
