Reddit Plans Changes to Old Interface to Combat AI Data Scraping
Reddit has announced plans to make changes to its legacy interface, Old Reddit, to protect against AI data scraping. The platform, which has retained the old interface since its major redesign in 2018, now requires users to be logged in to access it. Reddit aims to migrate critical bots and moderator workflows to a modern stack, hinting at further changes to come. The company has also expanded its AI moderation tools, including the Rules Hub, to combat spam and abuse. These tools allow moderators to enforce rules automatically and review community performance, offering a more nuanced approach than previous keyword-based systems.
