LinkedIn Study Reveals Widening Gender Gap in High-Paying AI Jobs
A new study by LinkedIn indicates that women are being significantly left behind in the burgeoning field of high-paying artificial intelligence jobs, exacerbating the existing gender gap in the technology industry. In the U.S., women constitute only 26% of new hires in roles requiring AI skills, a stark contrast to the 50% representation of women in non-AI positions. These AI-related jobs offer substantially higher salaries, with typical listings averaging around $177,000, compared to approximately $80,000 for non-AI roles. This disparity is particularly concerning as AI job postings have doubled since 2023, signifying a rapid growth area where women are underrepresented in benefiting from the pay premium and leadership opportunities.
