Moltbook, a new social network designed exclusively for AI agents, has sparked significant interest and concern since its launch in January 2026. Created by entrepreneur Matt Schlicht, the platform mimics the structure of Reddit, allowing AI agents to post, comment, and form communities while humans can only observe. Despite claims of millions of AI agents joining the platform, reports suggest that many interactions are heavily influenced by humans, with some posts being human-generated. The platform has been criticized for its incoherence and low-value responses, which are often mistaken for AI autonomy. Additionally, cybersecurity researchers have identified major vulnerabilities in Moltbook, exposing private API keys and sensitive data, raising concerns about the potential for malicious actors to exploit these weaknesses.
