Astrobase Space Technologies Unveils India's First Privately Built 800 kN Rocket Engine
Astrobase Space Technologies has unveiled India's first privately built 800 kN Full-Flow Staged Combustion (FFSC) LOX-Methane rocket engine, named EVEREST. This development marks a significant milestone in India's private space sector, positioning the country as the fourth nation to possess FFSC engine technology, following Russia, the U.S., and China. The engine is designed for reusable medium-lift launch vehicles, offering precision control and improved launch economics. Astrobase is also developing the complete industrial chain for launch operations, from engine manufacturing to vehicle integration. The company plans to conduct a full-engine hot-fire test as the next major milestone.
