Remains of Missing US Soldier Recovered in Morocco Amid Ongoing Military Exercise
The remains of First Lieutenant Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., a U.S. soldier who went missing during military exercises in Morocco, have been recovered. Key, a 27-year-old Air Defense Artillery officer, was found in the Atlantic Ocean by a Moroccan military search team. He was one of two soldiers who disappeared after falling off a cliff during a recreational hike near the Cap Draa Training Area. The search operation, involving over 600 personnel from the U.S., Morocco, and other military partners, continues for the second missing soldier. Key was participating in African Lion, an annual multinational military exercise held in Morocco, which involves more than 7,000 personnel from over 30 nations.
