Abu Dhabi Reports Drone Strike at Nuclear Power Plant Amidst Iran Conflict
Authorities in Abu Dhabi have reported a drone strike that caused a fire at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. The incident occurred outside the inner perimeter of the plant, specifically targeting an electrical generator. Despite the attack, no injuries were reported, and radiological safety levels remained unaffected. The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation confirmed that the plant's essential systems are operating normally. The UAE has faced repeated missile and drone attacks during the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran. The UAE has accused Iran of escalating the conflict by targeting energy and maritime infrastructure. The International Atomic Energy Agency has called for maximum military restraint near nuclear power plants and is closely monitoring the situation.
