Thomasville, Georgia Recognized for Charm and Culinary Scene in USA TODAY Awards
Thomasville, Georgia, has gained national recognition by being named one of the Best Small Towns in the South and ranking among the Best Small Town Food Scenes in USA TODAY's annual 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. The awards, which are part of a program where nominees are selected by a panel and winners are decided by public vote, highlight Thomasville's charm and its culinary reputation. The town is home to The Plaza Restaurant & Oyster Bar, known as the oldest restaurant in Georgia, established in 1916. This recognition places Thomasville alongside other notable small towns in the South, such as Starkville, Mississippi, and Lewisburg, West Virginia.
