NYC Taxi Limousine Commission Seeks Deputy Commissioner for Policy and External Affairs to Shape For-Hire Transportation Future
The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is actively seeking a Deputy Commissioner for Policy and External Affairs. This key role will be instrumental in setting the strategic direction for the agency's approach to labor, technology, and transit policy challenges within New York City's for-hire vehicle industry. The TLC is responsible for regulating a vast transportation ecosystem, including taxis, street hail liveries, high-volume for-hire services like Uber and Lyft, black cars, luxury limousines, livery vehicles, commuter vans, and paratransit vehicles. The selected individual will lead policy development, integrate economic justice into the TLC's work, and supervise policy, data, and outreach teams. This position reports directly to the Commissioner and will oversee Policy Research, Data Analytics & Engineering, and Community Affairs teams. The role emphasizes a commitment to driver and passenger dignity, corporate accountability, and fostering an integrated transportation system.
