Reddit Tests AI-Generated Video and Audio for Text Posts
Reddit is rolling out a new feature that utilizes artificial intelligence to convert text posts into video and audio formats. This initiative, which began on Monday for web browsers and will extend to iOS and Android on Tuesday, aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of content where Reddit posts are read aloud on other platforms like TikTok and YouTube. The AI-generated videos will feature multi-voice text-to-speech, captions, and visual templates, presenting "real human conversations" in a new, immersive way. Initially, the test is limited to a select number of English-language posts within specific subreddits, but Reddit plans to expand the trial.
