Broomfield Church Fire Caused by Blowtorch Misuse Prompts Evacuations
A fire at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Broomfield, Colorado, led to evacuations after it was caused by the misuse of a blowtorch on dry leaves. The incident occurred on Friday morning, with the fire reported at 9:22 a.m. and extinguished by 11:32 a.m. Two employees on the church grounds were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The fire resulted in smoke, fire, and water damage to the church building. Broomfield is currently under level 1 fire restrictions, which prohibit the use of open flames, including blowtorches. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine if any citations are warranted.
