Cayuga County Seeks $3M for New Emergency Operations Center
Cayuga County, New York, is seeking $3 million in federal funding to construct a new emergency operations center. The request, submitted by U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, aims to replace the previous center, which was located in a Cold War-era bunker and closed in 2024. The new facility is planned to be built at the county's public safety campus in Sennett. The center will enhance the county's ability to coordinate emergency responses and disaster recovery efforts.
