Windows 10 Remains Popular Among Steam Users Despite End of Life
Six months after Windows 10 was officially retired, over a quarter of Steam users continue to use the operating system, according to the latest Steam Hardware Survey. Windows maintains a 93.47% share among Steam users, but only 67.74% have upgraded to Windows 11. The reluctance to switch is attributed to Windows 11's early reputation issues and its requirement for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, which necessitates hardware upgrades. Despite the challenges, Windows remains the dominant OS for gaming, with Linux showing modest growth.
