San Diego Faces Intensifying Heatwave with Record Highs Expected
San Diego is experiencing a brief respite from extreme heat and humidity, but temperatures are set to climb significantly later this week. According to ABC 10News Meteorologist Megan Parry, a heat dome will expand westward, pushing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above average by the weekend. Saturday is expected to be the hottest day of the summer so far, with coastal areas reaching the 80s (26-32°C), inland regions hitting the 90s and 100s (32-38°C), and desert areas nearing 120°F (49°C). A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect until Wednesday evening, transitioning to a High Surf Advisory and Coastal Flood Advisory through Saturday. Monsoon flow will weaken temporarily, reducing humidity, but it is expected to surge again next week.
