British Columbia Officials Urge Life Jacket Use After Five Okanagan Lake Drownings
In response to a series of recent drownings, officials in the Okanagan region are emphasizing the importance of wearing lifejackets while on Okanagan Lake. During the kickoff of National Drowning Prevention Week, local leaders and the Lifesaving Society B.C. and Yukon highlighted the critical role of lifejackets in preventing fatalities. The event follows five drownings in the lake over the past month, underscoring the need for increased safety measures.
