Severe Storms Impacting Missouri and Illinois with Potential Tornadoes
Severe thunderstorms are currently affecting regions in Missouri and Illinois, with watches and warnings issued by the National Weather Service. The storms are bringing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail, posing a threat to vehicles and structures. Flash flood warnings, flood watches, and severe thunderstorm watches are active in the area. The National Weather Service anticipates additional storms to develop in central Illinois by mid-afternoon, moving east through mid-evening. These storms may produce damaging winds, hail, and a few tornadoes, along with heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding.
