Florida Drops Texting-and-Driving Citation Against One-Handed Woman
A traffic citation issued to Kathleen Thomas, a Florida woman, for allegedly texting while driving has been dropped. The incident occurred on February 11 when a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy pulled Thomas over, accusing her of holding a phone in her right hand. However, bodycam footage revealed that Thomas does not have a right hand, leading to the dismissal of the $116 ticket due to insufficient evidence. Thomas, a fitness influencer with a significant social media following, shared the footage online, which contributed to public awareness of the incident.
