AI Achieves Perfect Score at International Mathematical Olympiad, Matching Human Competitors
Artificial intelligence models developed by Chinese tech companies Huawei and Xiaohongshu have achieved a perfect score at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), a prestigious global math competition. This marks the first time AI has matched the top human competitors, who also achieved perfect scores. The AI models were tested under strict conditions, with no human intervention allowed during the problem-solving process. The competition, held in Shanghai, saw participation from 666 contestants worldwide, with only seven achieving perfect scores. This development highlights the rapid progress of AI in complex problem-solving tasks, as previous AI models had only reached gold-medal scores without achieving perfection.
