City Council Analysis Identifies Effective Vision Zero Actions in Reducing Traffic Casualties
A new analysis by the City Council has identified four key interventions under the Vision Zero program that have been most effective in reducing traffic casualties in New York City. These interventions include turn traffic calming measures, neighborhood slow zones, leading pedestrian intervals, and a citywide speed limit reduction. The analysis, which reviewed data from 9,562 intersections over a decade, found significant reductions in pedestrian casualties due to these measures.
