University of Akron Students Assume Regional and National Leadership Roles in Greek Organizations
Three University of Akron (UA) students have taken on significant regional and national leadership positions within their respective Greek organizations for the current academic year. Braxton Moore, an exercise science major, was elected as the 49th Second Vice Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. (OPPF), making him the second person in nearly 80 years from OPPF’s fourth district (Ohio and West Virginia) to hold this third-highest leadership position. His twin brother, Brandon Moore, who is the current president of UA’s Beta Beta chapter of OPPF, was elected second vice district representative of the fourth district. Additionally, Shelby Tremble, a double major in respiratory therapy and psychology from the Delta Pi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. (AKA), was appointed regional cluster coordinator – undergraduate for AKA’s Great Lakes Region. These appointments highlight the leadership development fostered at the University of Akron.
