Four GOP-Backed Candidates Advance in Washington State Supreme Court Races
In Washington State, four Republican-backed candidates have advanced in the primary elections for the state Supreme Court, where five of the nine seats will be decided in November. The rapid turnover is due to retirements and appointments, creating a rare opportunity for significant change in the court's composition. Mason County Superior Court Judge David Stevens leads in the Position 3 race, while other GOP-backed candidates trail their opponents. The Washington State Republican Party, led by Chairman Jim Walsh, is focusing on traditional campaign strategies, such as door-to-door canvassing and distributing slate cards, to boost voter recognition and support for their candidates.
