Thermos Recalls 8.2 Million Containers Due to Safety Concerns
Thermos has announced a recall of 8.2 million containers, including 5.8 million Stainless King Food Jars and 2.3 million Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles. This action follows reports of stoppers ejecting forcefully from the containers, causing injuries. The Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that the stoppers lacked a pressure relief mechanism, leading to 27 reported incidents, including three cases of permanent vision loss. The affected products were sold at major retailers like Target and Walmart from March 2008 to July 2024. Consumers are advised to stop using these containers immediately and contact Thermos for a free replacement stopper or bottle.
