Boca Helping Hands Expands Workforce Program to Boost Career Opportunities
Boca Helping Hands, a prominent nonprofit organization in South Florida, is expanding its workforce development program to provide better career opportunities for individuals in Palm Beach County. Originally starting as a small food pantry, the organization has grown significantly over the years, serving 3.5 million meals last year. The workforce program aims to help individuals, particularly those who have recently graduated high school or are working in low-paying gig economy jobs, to find stable and well-paying careers. The program offers training and scholarships for various licensing programs, such as commercial driver's licenses and nursing aide certifications. The initiative is designed to address the local demand for skilled workers in trades like plumbing, electrical work, and truck driving, which are not easily outsourced or eliminated by automation.
